Why is abercrombie and fitch clothes so much more expensive in the uk than the usa?

shipping, imports, ect...and a&f if over priced in america i'd hate to see prives for the UK

but if u ever come to the US u should buy stuff over here then take it back :]

The european union custom taxes are very high  for certain country of origin for imports (mostly china/asia) and I am guessing that the A&F products are coming from there.

on top of that, If you live in the UK, you should know that the sales tax is way higher than the US (nearly 20%), and that overheads for the company are probably way higher too given that rents/utilities/minimum wages/income taxes rates are high which makes everything more expensive for A&F to sell in the UK. Also you are working with a smaller volume of import and therefore importing cost are more expensive.. the bigger volume the cheaper it gets...

You can also consider that they are aligning their price to the local competition in the UK (French Connection, etc..) and trying to establish their brand as trendy and not cheap...

I dont know why you cant access the website, but its more expensive because we have different currency.
