I think it has to do with individual rights. There is no such thing as rights but even you think there are some rights we should have and not have. Government is not here as a moral guide. The Church should speak to this issue not the laws of government. We should not take your choices from you.

I'm not a huge fan of abortion, but if right wing religious nutjobs weren't putting this BS, abstinence only c**p in our schools, and trying to get birth control outlawed, there'd be a lot fewer abortions going on.

"It's better than coat hangers in dark alleys" (maybe we should legalize liquor store assaults as long as they are done in a controlled manner)

"It's my choice, and a fetus can't live on its own" (why stop at birth?  2 month old babies can't take care of themselves either)

They have been duped by years of propaganda insisting that any kind of restriction of abortion is a restriction on everyone's "personal liberty".

Interesting, because the same argument can be made for the unborn.

Planned Parenthood couldn't go around selling "let us keep killing babies, because we're making colossal bucks", because it's morbid.

First of all, pro-choice is not an exclusive club permitting only liberal members.

Secondly, you're assuming the pro-choice ideology equals all liberals (or a majority of them) want abortions, encourage abortions, like a gang of NFL fans watching their team score the winning touchdown.  Quit skewing the issue and realize that pro-choice is not pro-abortion.  Pro choice is simply the ideology that government should not interfere with personal choice.  This ideology, by the way, is a core belief of conservatives so why they're pro-life (meaning taking the choice of abortion away) is hypocritical.
