Why is adding a new alerts device not working?

Question

When I try to add my t-mobile cell phone (RAZR) as a new alerts device, I get to the point where it is supposed to send you a confirmation code, and it never sends anything. I also tried setting it up as a mobile pager and tried to use my phone's e-mail address ([e-mail]) and that didn't work either. I *also* tried signing up for a new account, and had the same results.

Is anyone else able to add (and confirm) a new alert device through yahoo mobile?

you are not alone, my Motorola V300 with T-mobile never gets the confirmation code either.     I have called T-mobile and emailed yahoo, no one has an answer.     I used to get email alerts, but it stopped for some reason and when I went into mobile.yahoo.com and had to re-register my device, and at the confirmation screen, I never get a confirmation text message.     BUT...  I went to another area on the yahoo mobile page and managed to have yahoo send me a text message!  So it does work, but somehow either T-Mobile is blocking the confirmation code, or Yahoo has lost ability to send it.    

as a side note..  my Gmail account still forwards correctly to my cell phone.

I had the same problem.

I never received a response from yahoo.

T-Mobile reps were very unhelpful and rude when I called. So I canceled my T-Mobile service.

Confirmation code and alerts arrive without a problem with my new Verizon service.

I am having the same problem.  I am guessing that somehow the email address that would be added to your cell phone number when you register your phone somehow gets mixed up, which results in not receiving the confirmation code.  

I used to get alerts then it stopped.  They must have changed something, otherwise, we would be getting our alerts.

I hope this helps to get to the bottom of this problem.

It properly doesn't go through because you are out of the country covering areas, so the code couldn't reach u.
