  1. Earth sciences are a much wider study of the planet where agriculture and it's studies are more associated with production of life and living material for our use. Mostly growing food but not entirely. You need to know earth sciences to be an effective agriculturalist/ farmer, and to know agriculture helps one to understand the impact of it on the study of the physical earth, as the worlds farms make up such a huge and important aspect of the planet. If earth sciences were our body, agriculture would be our hands.

  2. Agriculture is the practice of using the top meter or so of the earth's surface to grow things. While it is informed by science, it was invented thousands of years before science and even today operates mostly by practice, trial and error, and the lore learned from generations of previous farmers in an area.

Earth sciences, collectively, are the application of scientific methodology to improving our knowledge of the planet that things are growing on. The knowledge gained is applied to all of human endeavor, but the practice is done for the understanding it yields, not the practical applications.
