1. Hi.

Listen to Sammy Deluxe or Blumentopf or Bushido- has nothing to to with that (sh..) stuff....

  2. I noticed that all the groups you mentioned are singing in English. Now, with English not their mother tongue, and the style of music they make mostly being party songs, it might be that your experience with "German" music is a little limited. I know from your former questions that you have been given other German bands to check out, and you might just want to do check out their lyrics. If you google for, example, Die Ärzte "a*******h" lyrics, you might be able to find a translation of the lyrics into English, and you will see that this song is definitely not about love and friendship, but rather political. And "Die Ärzte" might not be considered "pop music" in your book, but in Germany, "pop" music is what's "pop"ular right now in the charts, and there is mostly a difference being made between what is not "pop" per se, but popular right now, and what is "pop" per se, but considered "nonsense-" or "party-pop" that everybody knows wont be along for too long.

Also, the groups you mentioned are first and foremost not all German (take D.J. Bobo, who's Swiss), and second not that much listened to anymore. I know exactly one song of Sin with Sebastian, and it was big 10 to 12 years ago. I've never heard of befour and atc, and D.J. Bobo's peak has been over for some 8 years, at least. If you want to know a German band that is still popular (not in Germany, but I hear they are big in the UK right now) take "Scooter". Horrible lyrics in a horrible accent, but than again... each his own, right?

Besides all this, if you go down and listen to all the texts of all the pop songs from the US, Canada, Britain, whose native tongue is English, one might raise the question as to why their songs are all about love, friendship and romance, too, seeing as there is a far better market in native English speakers who might find political lyrics in a pop song fun for a change.

The only song texts I know dealing a little with politics are rap songs, nowadays.... hm.

Maybe pop/ party songs are not that much a political statement. Ever thought about that? They are made for people who don't want to think about the bigger problems of earthly existance when they go out at night. They want to dance, drink and have a good time, and not carefully listen to the lyrics for the higher meaning. That's waht they want. And the music industry would be very stupid if they didn't give them what they wanted. It's cheaply produced doodeling, which sells for a lot of money.

And before you go on asking questions limiting German bands to the bands you have mentioned now in at least 4 questions, you might really want to go and check out some popular German music with some popular German lyrics. I know you've got the info on that, already.

  3. You probably just know German pop music about love..but there are a lot of German songs about other things..at the moment many songs about football (soccer).

  4. Well, most American songs I know are about that, too. Seems to be of worldwide interest. Even rock songs are that way. But we have singers-songwriters that are very much "politico", too. Decreasing in number, but still there. Their songs are not known worldwide, because they're of no international interest.

btw, DJ Bobo is SWISS, not German.
