  1. because its a good learning tool and neutricious..plus i remember when i was a kid, i use to take the letters and  put them on the table and spell stuff...nifty huh???

  7. Maybe people think if they fed them soup with letters in it ,it would somehow soak into the blood stream and the letters would be fed to the brain where they mystically create words and then they magically now how to read... simple....
