  1. because people want someone to hate... they want an enemy...

and after the soviets fell... we didn't know who to make the bad guy...

so, why not make the other party the "bad guy"... the reason your corn flakes are soggy... the reason your fuel injector is clogged...

and people LOVE IT... they eat it up... spend BILLIONS on books that say nothing more than "everything is the other parties fault"... ENTIRE SHOWS... AND CHANNELS are dedicated to it...

it's more sport than politics anymore... there to entertain us...

propaganda... probably... but hey "it's what the people want"...

  2. Because those dogs with the money behind the corporate media want it that way. I posted a similar question earlier.

  3. I often think it's all really a big put-on. Americans love competition and by keeping up a big show, they make sure the two parties generate a lot of interest.

  4. Politics reflect the social concerns of a society.

In this case, we had a huge surge of liberal thinking in the 60's and are now struggling against it as it passes to the next generation.

Many former liberals (now wiser), are falling on the side of moderate conservatism. We also have a fresh crop of conservatives who see social spending, government regulation, and a dissolution of our freedoms (Fairness Doctorine, Eminent Domain, threats of nationalization) and are joining the fray.

Of course, we still have lingering baby boomers and will continue to do so for the next 30 years. But the next wave is rising. That's why Obama had made it this far. He's tapping into the younger generation liberals (thanks public schools).

With Christianity on the rise, government run amok, and global economies offering new markets and new competition, America is really at a crossroads.

Either we will fall to the liberals and become as bankrupt and troubled as Europe, or we will embrace conservatism and return what the government has stolen to the people of this nation.

The stakes have never been higher. That is why the political scene is so extreme right now.

  5. The gap between traditional Republicans and modern Democrats is widening.

The left has gotten more extreme. A Republican (McCain) is more similar to 1950's Democrat JFK than the modern Democrat (Obama).

As socialism continues to grow in the U.S., the U.S. will see more economic troubles (gdp/per capita) and it will see more polarization.

The right did not get more conservative.

  6. If you think that the current administration is not Conservative just wait till bar-ac oh bummer gets in office, you'll seeeeeeeeeaaaaaahhh.
