You only have to look back to Zoroastrianism (Persian Empire) when the 'truth' was the only way and everyone else's way of life was a 'lie'.

Ot alternatively why isn't a monotheistic religion that does not recognise secularism not considered a dictatorial political party?

From a thought I had after reading Persian Fire by Tom Holland

  1. Well really it so depends how people are educated.I personally think that's why all children should receive the same basic education with religion being no part of it.At least that way they can then choose what religion if any..

  2. To answer your question, it's because many religious people believe that morality is derived from revealed religion, when in fact morality evolves outside of (and often in spite of) the skewed 2000-year old goat herder mentality.

It's given credence over politics that really matters because it gets people pissed off enough to vote. Do you think that if abortion were permanently legalized (without threat of reversal), the social conservative base of the GOP would go to the polls? Most people don't care about China's rise in Central Asia or Russian power plays or EU investment in Africa and South America because it doesn't play into their narrow view of America as a cultural and political hegemon (something we are loosing for all those reasons, but don't tell the Bible belt).

As long as people care vehemently about pushing their religiously-motivated morality upon others, politicians will use "issues" like abortion, death penalty, and right to life as political footballs.

  3. Sure.

    Why not?

    Look in the real world.

    With self lack of knowledge.

When they could not even differentiate between what is the Book of the Dead and what is the Book of the Living the gifts of life vital for the survival of living human kind in time.

With the blind blindly following the blind with self lack of knowledge too in time.

    Luke 8.5-8,10-17

In idol worshiping the dead Mummy of failures and horrors of the past from the graveyards of different ghostly ancestor's culture and custom in kicking the butts of God in not worshiping God in time.

    Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49

    What do you think?

  4. It's reprehensible that there are people who desire to govern by superstition.

  5. most people are not interested in *PERSIA or now IRAN*

we like the BIBLE..and this is the book that is in every hotel room

and motel room..people don't know much about books on foreign

Middle Easter history even if our history does start in this area.

Kids are lucky to know about American History...as history is a

dry subject to most kids.  I loved history but most people only know

about history from the history channel.  This is not always the truth.

  6. It is unfortunately a belief that those with a Religion also have a certain ''Moral High Ground''.

Of course all of the vile happenings (in the name of Religion) in the past, present and indeed the future be either discounted or forgot.

So I'm afraid Secular Politics is always seen in a secondary light (perhaps because it normally seeks and is open to the truth, and is therefore not morally high.

  7. I am a Christian but regard the so called secularism as a very dangerous unless it is backed by some form of religious belief. It is through our faith that the humanity which is skin deep is allowed to function. The applies through all of the great religions; Christian Jew  Hindu Muslim. This does not mean that I regard them as equal to Christianity but rather as a seeking of the truth. Secularism is ultimately a hard merciless unyielding  system which puts us ultimately in the same system as  that of an ants nest or bees' hive.

  8. Actually, if you look at most religons, they are similar.  Do not steal, murder etc along with judgements on adultery.

When it comes to law, our law is based on our history, and religion played a large part of our countries history in the past.  Hence why Islamic law's play more of a part in Saudi Arabia, and why the Bible has a part to play here.

In the UK however, civil matters have always allowed to be judged in 'religious' courts.  This being the case with civil sharia cases being now tried in some areas more recently, and Jewish courts acting on civil matters taking part for a longer time before.

  9. It is called 'Spell Checker'. Look into it.
