  1. In most U.S. universities, Archaeology is a sub-division of Anthropology departments...


  2. Archaeology and Anthropology are both members of the Humanities Science or the Science of the Humanities. To receive a doctorate in the Humanities you must have 5 degrees, archaeology, cultural anthrop, physical anthrop, philosophy and psychology. the truth is that there are no doctorates in Humanities... Unless someone just happens to have all 5 degrees.... I guess that leaves out my requisite in special publishing huh...

  3. It is seprate because it focuses on a specific and detailed aspect of life. The past. It is also related to Anthropology because it uses all of the other areas to help determine what happened to a culture in the past.

  4. Archaeology is often considered one of the four fields of anthropology - the others being cultural anthropology, biological anthropology, and linguistics. Like the rest of anthropology, it is strongest at discovering daily and yearly patterns, and weakest at discovering single events.

    But its study of the human past ties it with history as well as the other fields of anthropology. In some ways archaeology and history complement each other: each is strongest where the other is weakest.

  5. Archeology  is one of the four branches of Anthropology, along with Linguistics, Cultural Anthropology and Biological Anthropology.

    Archeologists try to answer the same questions about human groups by looking at their remains that Cultural Anthropologists try to answer by observing human groups.

  7. Archeology must ''cooperate'' with many other sciences in order to give the best results. It is tightly connected to anthropology cause it uses her to understand how  ancient societies lived.
