  1. Actually, their food is low in fat and high in protein. Sushi especially. Just watch the processed foods like Ramen and Maruchan. They contain lots of MSG. Also, take it easy on the soy sauce. Very high in Sodium.

  2. its the MSG!!

  3. asian food is amazing! the americanized versions are not so good because of all the sodium but the real authentic stuff is actually really heathy.

make sure you get the spicy stuff- spices actually speed up your metabolism which makes it all the better.

  4. Real Asian food isn't bad for you, especially if they don't use MSG (which they do tend to in Asia, but if you make your own you can omit it).

I make Tom Yum soup and Thai green and red curries myself and I did have a go at making pineapple rice, but it was a bit bland (I'll have to make it again and practice).

Lately I've been getting into making my own fried rice and noodle dishes too which is always interesting.  Some work out great and some not so great.  I'm still learning!

A few weeks ago I made a lovely hot and sour soup which I was really pleased with.  I might try that again soon.

So no, I don't think you're doing a bad thing by eating this kind of food, but it might be better for you if you try cooking some yourself so you can cut down on oil etc.

Chinese people recommend drinking green tea after a meal too as they think it cuts down on the grease.  I tried that when I went out for a Chinese meal and I think it does work.  I definitely didn't feel as stuffed out as I would normally after eating Chinese food.
