Question:

Why is back tire on my bike wobbling?

its a specialized 415 bmx bike. it hasnt been used in about 4 years. I filled up the tires and the front is fine but the back almost seems like it might be warped because it wobbles when I ride it. examining it closer, the rim/spokes arent the problem, either.

is this a tire problem or tube problem?

quick/cheap fix?

I know tubes are only a couple bucks but I dont want to buy a tube when I need a tire, get me?

THANKS

  1. I think it is your spokes. They are loose. Tighten them and your problem will go away.

  2. I think it is your spokes even though you say it isn't. Over time spokes loosen and make it so your wheel will wobble. You will need to true "tighten" the spokes on your bike so that all of them are aligned and then your wheel will go straight.

  3. Have you tried deflating it and filling it back up?  I have had a problem where the tire got pressed into the rim incorrectly when I filled it up and it caused the tire to be out of shape.  I just deflated it and filled it back up and it worked.

  4. it sounds like its out of true or wraped most of the time the back tire wraps first due to the pressure you put on the freewheel or axle in the back  you can go to a bike shop to have them fix it

  5. If the rim doesn't wobble side to side or up and down when you spin the wheel, then it's the tire. I've never seen a fault in a tube cause a lump in a tire. They either hold air or they don't. If you buy a new tire, you should get a new tube as well just because the one you have is pretty darn old. I replace mine every other season whether they need it or not.
