Why is been pronounced as bin while seen is pronounced as the long ee sound like seen?

it's not.  it should be pronounced as bean.  the pronunciation of been as bin is really dependent on the region the individual is saying it.  for example, throughout the US it's usually pronounced bin (or even ben).  however, in some parts of Canada and in the UK it's generally pronounced bean.  i chalk it up to yet another bastardization of the English language.
