  1. “Bermuda Triangle” isn’t the only name for the region you’re writing about. In truth the Bermuda Triangle is also commonly referred to as the “Devil’s Triangle.”

Traditionally the triangle itself is reported to extend its borders from somewhere off of Florida’s Atlantic coastline. The most commonly accepted western most point of the triangle is off the coast of Miami, Florida. From there the triangle runs to the island of Bermuda which sits about 1,100 miles northeast of Miami. The line then extends south to Puerto Rico and back to Miami. The triangle’s name comes from the belief that one of the “corners” of the triangle touches or encompasses the island of Bermuda.

Though many people consider the Bermuda Triangle an actual triangle, there are many skeptics who believe the area is more of a trapezoid shape which covers a far greater surface area than the description above. Some believe the area covers the entire

Caribbean Sea and reaches as far east as the Azores (an island chain in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean).

I hope this answered your question and offered some additional information. Best of Luck to you!

  2. because the incidents have occured in an area that is roughly a triangle (miami, puerto rico and bermuda forming the points of the triangle) and is near the island of bermuda - hence bermuda triangle

not because of the bermuda shorts - lol!!
