Why is boat engine blower burning out fuses ?

i replace fuse, turn blower on and pops the fuse. THe ground on the swicth and the blower are tight

  1. maybe you have the wrong fuse in it get a bigger one and see what happens


  2. Yea as said above, check the motor and any filters. Also, my contribution is that I suggest you check the wires as much as you can because it could be shorting out, blowing out the fuse. good luck

  3. The bearings are probably bad>Or need oil>Or fan shorted out>Disconnect the wires and see if the fuse blows>

  4. there is too much current going through the fuse

  5. the motor's pulling more amps than normal.

    either something is blocking or caught in it and slowing it down, or else it's just worn out.

  6. Disconnect the wire from the blower if it does not blow fuse then blower is bad if it trips then you have a short in wire. It may be easier to run new wire than to trouble shoot it. Good luck most blowes do not last a long time (2 or 3 years max)

  7. Either the blower motor is bad, the wires sending current to it are corroded and causing to much resistance, or a combination of both.
