  1. Bridge is a friendly game with no wager. Poker is gambling with money at stake.


  2. While Bridge can certainly be played for a stake (as can any game) Poker actually requires one. In an important sense, in Poker, it is not the cards you play with but the money - the cards simply provide something to bet/bluff on. Bridge requires not stake to make it interesting.
