  1. Pre Calculus, really has little to do with calculus.  Oddly enough, I found that the effort level for pre-calc was at least triple what it was for calculus.  I grew up with math anxiety but as an adult I tried to force myself to make a change and took it seriously as if it were a full time job.  I recorded classes, learned how to take explicative and NEAT notes in BAM form so I could more easily review and made up flash cards to get through some of the bland memorization of rules.  This got me through Algebra 1, 2 and 3 with grades of A, A-, A- , respectively.  Precalc, got a 63 and then managed to get 4.0 in calc 1. if interested in more details, contact me at bkackley@gmail.com
