  1. State some statistics to back up this opinion. On what do you base this claim?

  2. Conservatives harbor the small town mentality of being suspicious of outsiders, and having everyone mind their business.  They don't want to get involved in other people's affairs when it does not benefit the party, or supporters directly.  Why they have this mentality... I will let you decide.

Jayne, I don't recall the exact numbers; look at the decline in funding in the foreign affairs dept. and CIDA over the last few years (I happened to catch Joe Clark giving a lecture).

  3. They are smarter than the rest of us??

  4. There is an article that in Vancouver on The East Side standards of living  are so bad The United Nations has had a look or will take a look and offer help. This may be an attempt to make fun of people but then again it might not as things are bad in The East Side. There was a documentary about First Nations women going missing and turning up dead in The East Side. The documentary also has also made the statement that 500 First Nations women have dissapeared across Canada. There is also the statement that often The Police do not move in as urgent a fashion as if the women were white women from areas which were more wealthy.

  5. Because the Harper Government, a pale imitation of the Bush administration, has no interest in playing a more active role in the UN, or in international affairs generally, beyond honouring existing commitments such as Afgahanistan. The focus on short-term domestic policy to secure an overall majority at the next election is all to evident and the low priority given to international affairs is shown by the poor calibre of the Ministers appointed to the External Affairs portfolio.
