Why is chewing gum consider low class

where did that come from, and also why having a nice smile,pretty teeth make you seem friendlier and or a little classier.

Having a nice smile and pretty teeth is a sign that you take care of yourself.  Chewing gum isn't so bad if you know how to chew it which most people don't.

Chewing makes you look like a cow.  People who chew gum have to eventually reach in their mouth (yuk) to remove it, and then leave it where it will stick to other stuff, perhaps your hand, perhaps your shoe (rude).

Nicer smiles that are white reveal that you have been born into a home with good nutrition and hygiene, and that you go to a dentist and get them cleaned, and probably were able to afford an orthodontist.  That nice little white smile is a long term investment that is not, and in some cases cannot, be invested in by lower class families.

Chewing gum is actually healthy for your gums and your teeth. The chewing action causes your body to build saliva mixed with the agents in the chewing gum to clense your mouth. It keeps your mouth exercised and nice and healthy.

I don't know, it really depends on how you chew it. It can be bad manners if you chew it like a cow (CHOMP!  CHOMP! CLAMP! CLAMP!) but it is also proper manners when you chew it quietly with your mouth closed. (..........) This stupid lady says if you chew gum then you will be a smoker. (??, SHE IS A r****d, DO NOT LISTEN TO HER!!)

It just does. It's something the women of "My Name is Earl" would do, like the ex-wife or Patty the daytime hooker. It looks slovenly and cheap, especially if it's done in a sloppy/lazy kind of way. Nice, white teeth are classically beautiful and project an image of health and beauty.

Its not that chewing gum is considered "low class" but rather how it is chewed. "High class" individuals were often raised to eat very properly, mouths shut and silent however most people who chew gum tend to chew with their mouths open, blow bubbles, pop it, etc.

"High class" people can afford the bills as far as having perfect teeth are concerend.
