Why is citizens' participation an important aspect of governance?

    i.e. ----  Do your OWN homework or take-home test.


  2. depends on the framework of govt.

    socialism=somewhat

    communism=not really, govt has it under control

    republic/democracy=ppl are the govt.

  3. Read the Declaration of Independence: governments reign at the consent of the governed (the people).

  4. It creates oversight of government, it also reduces the failure of our input to any changes being proposed and passed into law.

  5. It get them involved and they then have some ownership on improvements.

    Anyone who gets involved with the community has a better understanding what it takes to accomplish even the simplest task.

    It can help the citizens to become more informed on the workings of the civic departments.

    Usually it gives them a better appreciation on the process of any request and/or suggestion.
