Why is country music doing this to me?

I like listening to country music and they promote the conservative views so much...it kinda hurts....is there anyone else who is against these views besides Willie Nelson and The Dixie Chicks?

Actually, believe it or not, Toby Keith is a Democrat. You wouldn't know from his music, but I saw him talking about it on the news a few weeks ago.

To be honest, I have quit listening to country on the radio, because it has gotten to be something I don't even recognize.  When people were poor they were down home people.  But with all the money and fame they have sold out to the big corporations and they have pretty much destroyed what it used to be.  I know Merle Haggard has also spoken out about it.  So I just listen to my old records and remember what it was like before it became cool!!!

To the person who called Willie Nelson a "burned out pothead", I really would be careful about diminishing his legacy just because you don't agree with his politics. Willie Nelson is a country music legend, and I know that Toby Keith, even though their political views couldn't be more different, has enormous respect for him, and recorded his hit song "Beer for my Horses", as a duet with Willie Nelson.

s***w the dixie chicks and Willie nelson is a burned out pothead. and anyway the music is based on real people with traditional values. real Americans, so its a natural fit. I only hope the GOP doesn't slide farther left it will merge with the Demos soon
