Why is crunching satisfying?

I know a silly question...but what makes crunching satisfying. I can't suck on hard candy, I have to bite it, because I like the crunch. I love pickles, but they have to be cruchy. Is it the feeling, or the sound. Anyone have any idea??

  1. an added dimension of senses

  2. me same. I have no idea why...

  3. The more stimulus your body senses the more you are engaged and will get a feeling of satisfaction. This is why things like "sizzling" fajita's seem to taste better than just those served on a place and why desserts like bananas foster are so satisifying (you get the hot bananas, cold ice cream, and the flash from the flame when preparing). It stimulates multiple senses. The more stimulation the more a person will perceive enjoyment.
