  1. So that they can have some rhythm in their lives.. =]

  2. its not

  3. When it comes to children, your question is akin to asking, Why is play-acting important? Why is singing important? Why is drawing with a crayon important? It's only adults and modern civilization that have turned dance into an "activity." In truth, dance is part of what makes us human. (That is why it is categorized, here, in the "Arts and Humanities" section.)  It is a natural form of human communication. Turn on some music with a strong beat and you will see a tiny toddler who can only stand with support in their playpen start to bounce and sway to the rhythm.

Treat dance like a frivolous "activity" and you are robbing the human spirit of part of its soul. We can no more live without dance than we could live without stories, music or the visual arts.

And that goes for adults as well as children.

  4. Dance is one of the oldest forms of communition.  It's therapeutic in giving the individual a way of expression without the use of words.  In a group, dance also acts as a way to express important elements of a people or culture.  For children, it also helps with developing coordination, rhythm, and timing; it also taps into the brain's ability to coordinate movement with sound.

  5. it helps them not get fat.

  6. Because it works the creative parts of their brains while getting them off their butts, and working their muscles. It's both physically and mentally stimulating.

  7. SO THEY CAN GET A GIRL LATER IN LIFEOR WHEN THEY ARE AT THERE RIGGHT AGE. LOL

  8. There are many advantages to having children dance.

    1. It teaches them good exercise habits that they can use for life to keep fit.

    2. Many dance studios teach their students to eat healthy.

    3. It gives them a chance to experiment with dance in a safe environment.

    4. It teaches them to dream big and set goals.

    5. It improves flexibility and balance.

    6. It teaches them self-discipline

    And much more!

  9. it teaches coordination, ballance, strength, flexibility.  i can't even begin to explain how much i love dance and what it means to me.  either you like it or you don't.  some kids might enjoy it, some might not.  it's not for everyone.

  10. As a former dance teacher, I feel it is important for children to dance because it gives them the opportunity for physical activity. It also instills a love of music and movement, and finally it gives children a way to express themselves.

  11. I don't know what style of dance you are talking about, but I'm guessing hip hop/street since you described it as an activity. Dance is impotant to me because it's my passion and I love the rythm and everything, although I am a ballet and lyrical dancer.
