Question:

Why is delivery pizza such a ripoff nowadays?

I mean for one simple large one-topping pizza, it costs at least around $15.00. Plus, you have to pay tax and a delivery charge. On top of that, the guy who comes to the door expects a handout for driving the stupid thing all over town. So you end up paying close to $20.00, and waiting about 45 minutes for some bozo (no offense to all you delivery drivers) for the darn thing to show up. At least ittle Caesar's only charges $5.00, but they don't deliver. Does it really cost that much to make a pizza, or are pizza joints just out to make big profits?

  1. If you think it is a ripoff then why do you order? You are the one that instigates the transaction. I agree that pizza delivery is a ripoff........for the driver! It is a ripoff that the driver must drive all over town to deliver pizza's to bozo customers (no offense to you customers) who don't tip them enough to even pay for their gas. The customers then complain about the delivery time, the delivery fee and the tip when they could have just picked the pizza up themselves.

If you had ever delivered pizza then you wouldn't be so quick to call the driver a bozo. Most drivers I know have college degrees or many are real estate agents struggling with he bad housing market.

  2. Isn't every business out there to make a profit? Everyone's trying to make a living. And gas is outrageous!

  3. well there really is techinacal thigns about this

but i could never know them

and in some eyes it is a rip off in some it isnt.

who knows whether it is or not

    who really knows

who is one to make the decision it is, or it isnt

    who?

i think that is the question.

  4. Well unless i am confused all companies are open to make profit. The only reason pizza is so high and delivery is the cost of gas has driven up literally the price of food and delivery. Trust me by the time these guys are through they are not make but around what minimum wage.

  5. beats top ramen

  6. out to make a big profit it cost around 5 dollars to make it from scrach and you can make 2 large ones

  7. Yes, it is getting a bit expensive.  I always try to get the Pizza that's on sale.  I think everything is going up in price, but they are still probably making a good profit.

  8. Gas is $4.00... gotta fill the tank somehow!

Go waste your own gas if you don't like it

  9. Some are, but certain ingrediants are more expensive so...the cost of pizza differ from others....

and about the delivery...hmm..the gas prices have been going up...soooo ~ ..

the the money is actually paying for the gas for the vehicle and for the pizza :P

    so..yea.. xD

  10. Some are eliminating delivery all together so no they don't make **** driving across town to your lazy non-tipping ASSS

  11. what do you think? c'mon. dude. i think you know the answer.

  12. there's a number of reasons.  first, the cost of the ingredients is rising, especially flour.  and the delivery guys don't get paid much because they get tipped most of the time.  most pizza places also give the drivers some gas money and we all know that ain't cheap

if you really think about it, a large pizza can feed at least 2 people, and if its just you eating it  then it could be 2 meals or more.  so 15-20 bucks to feed 2 people or more of to feed yourself for more than one meal is a pretty good deal for take-out or delivery.
