Why is discrimination still such a prevalent issue today? ?

  1. its human nature, discrimination will always be a part of any society to some extent. its usually misplaced though, we discriminate against people too often for things out of their control or for things that are really insignificant--like skin color. there should be some level of separation between people in society, but not based on race or gender...it should be based on the integrity of a person, and how productive they are in society.


  2. It stems from the history of racial discrimination, which was actually sanctioned by law not too long ago. Though efforts have been made to prevent discrimination from occurring, most people of color are still by and large disadvantaged, and many of the laws which have been introduced to curtail discrimination end up putting others at a disadvantage as well. So it remains a very current issue today.

  3. because it involves people and we are a vicious bunch unfortunately.

  4. as an employer I may not want a certain type of person...that is my choice.

  5. Because there are still many ignorant, narrow-minded people out there.
