  1. I don't know anybody that has had a blow-out, except for idiots travelling on old worn tires, or with really bad alignment, for a lot of years.

With modern technology, I don't think there are more true blow-outs any time of year, but those idiots with the baldies will be driving faster in summer, and more likely to blow them.  I don't think those can be counted though.

Keep your car aligned, replace tires after 6 years even if they have few miles, because they are dead, and maintain your tire pressure and rotation schedule, and you like me, will not have blow-outs.  My last one was in 1983.

  2. 1  More high speed in summer.  Incorrect pressures more likely to cause overheating and therefore blowouts.

2  Either maintain correct tyre pressure or limit yourself to slow driving in winter.

  3. Heat build up due to hot roads. It's the same reason big truck tires come apart more in hot weather than cold.

  4. In the summer you have heaver usage and also you have higher road surface temps.  Your best prevention is frequent inspection and proper inflation.

  5. temparature climate! people drive more in spring-summer months! when tire pressure is more often going to happen!
