If this is true, if you would drink milk and other dairy products, would that negate the effect of soda on your bones?

  1. Soda contains high levels of phosphates, which have to be balanced by your body.  They balance it by pulling calcium out of your bones, thus weakening them.  Sure you can drink more milk or take calcium tablets, but wouldn't it be better to just cut down on the soda?

  2. The only way I could think of it harming your bones would be if you drank it exclusively.  Your body needs calcium so if all you drank was soda and no dairy products then you could be lacking in calcium intake.

  3. I understand the chemical caffeine has been shown to "inhibit the absorption of calcium" in your body.  Drinking milk may help, but the caffeine prevents it from doing your body the maximum benefit.

  4. i never heard of that one
