  1. and, where did you get this information from?

look at the guy! can YOU swim that well? i know i can't so that's why i admire his accomplishment!

  2. Because people do stupid things all the time. And he gets preferential treatment just because he is an athlete

  3. DUI  is certainly a very serious offence and he should know better.  Thank goodness he didn't kill anyone.  He is a wonderful athlete and great swimmer.  I can't believe how fast he went through that water.  Breaking record after record.  He is certainly the Hero of the games.  I suppose everyone makes mistakes and we can only hope that he has learned from the DUI and makes better judgements in the future.  He is now a powerful role model and with that goes responsibility.

  4. No one really cares about the Olympics.  These are mostly sports that no one cares to watch and are not profitable.  The Olympics sports are 90% useless.

  5. because he stopped drinking and started winning gold metals. i'm sorry but the drunk driving thing was 4 years ago, and even if you hate him, you have to know he's an amazing athlete. his skill is unmatchable, and he is representing our country.he's not a national hero, but admire that motivation!

  6. Yes, Michael Phelps got a DUI.  It was kind of a BS call, considering he was slightly over the limit on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where no one lives, but he did it, and he has admitted he did it.

Bush did it, and didn't admit it.  He got to be president.

  7. Hey Shoreke, sure you haven't "cast the first stone" too early, or do you really lead such a goody goody life! Have you never driven after having a few drinks, and only by the grace of god never been caught.

  8. Because everyone makes mistakes and deserves a second chance..  Him drinking and driving does not undermine his accomplishments and the glory he brought for the United States..

  9. You are right about Michael Phelps getting a D.U.I. But that was 4 years ago, people make mistakes. Michael was nineteen  then, and he's 23 now. He's more mature, and i think he deserves a second chance.

  10. I never heard about that one are you sure you're not thinking about President Bush?

  11. I was taught to try to forgive. It's hard to forgive Drunk driving, I lost a family member to a kid who already had 4 DUI's before. That puke is now doing 33 years in a state pen being called Honey by some big, hairy fellow. He is getting what is coming to him. I have forgiven him...but I must admit, I do get a grin when I think of his nightly ordeal.
