  1. My book, the Dynamic Great Lakes shows how humans have altered the Great Lakes ecosystems in the last 200 years.  The lakes are dynamic and there are natural changes over time and seasons, but the greatest changes are due to human activities.

  2. You should read "Collapse" by Jared Diamond.  This book details how human societies have interacted over the years with their environments.  Human populations behave in ways that often use up resources or alter the environment.  This has an impact on the ecology.  The same can be said for any other animal.  The feeding behaviour of herds of animals can alter a landscape, etcetera.  But human behaviour of course is the most important as it effects the environment a lot.
