  1. the angle of the earth and the sun. mid-day the earth is straight at it and at night the sun and earth are at a curved angle,so only partly of the sunlight reaches the earth

  2. It has to do with the amount of solar energy impacting a given area.  At mid-day, the Sun is at it's highest elevation in the sky, and the solar rays are impacting the surface at a relatively steep angle, thus the energy from the rays is more concentrated over a given area. In the evening, the Sun is low in the sky, thus the solar rays impact the surface at a much shallower angle, and the energy is spread out over a much larger area, thus heating is less.

  3. Absorption and scattering by the molecule matter such as dust and smoke in the atmosphere contribute to the reduction in the intensity of the down-ward moving solar radiation. In the evening, the sun's rays reach the earth at an inclined angle which means the rays have to pass through a greater extent of the atmosphere(than during noon) leading to more absorption and scattering as mentioned earlier. Moreover, the amount of solar radiation received in a given area diminishes as the inclination of the rays increase. So the intensity of solar radiation is reduced making the sun cooler.

  4. becuase tne side of the sun that faces us is where the side of the sun that dosnt face us so basicly the sun is on the other side of the world.
