Why is everyone Over Hyping the Blazers?

Question

The Blazers are the most "Overrated" or "Over Hyped" team in the NBA.

Guys like Oden and Bayless haven't done a single thing in the NBA yet, but still people are considering them to be NBA Finals Contenders. Hello! Last I checked the Lakers were the Western Conference Champs and they only got better by getting a healthy Bynum back. Sure the Blazers look awesome on Paper, but that doesn't always translate into wins on the court. But thats only my opinion. Any Thoughts?

Just you watch your lakers be crushed either this year or next year for sure.  Bynum i say is good, Gasol is a cry baby, Bryant is ball hog, Odom is good but gets in foul trouble, how do you expect this team to win especially when the west just got much better.

I know I agree, its gettin out of hand. Ya they should be good they got a lot of great young talent but they aint beatin out the best of the west thats just silly. Lets see how they play first before they are dubbed NBA Champs. They are so over hyped

Well probably because they have a roster full of future and current all-stars. There's no doubt they'll be good, but they're definitely being over-hyped especially on here. People are talking about WCF, but I don't even think they can make it out of the first round, not this year at least. They'll be a great team I'm sure of, but how good? They've yet to proven themselves.

I'd say the Blazers have a season close if not better to what the Warriors did last season.

I agree, the Blazers are way overrated. Give the Lakers respect where respect is due.

I think it has a lot to do with them going .500 last year without Oden.  Add to that the fact that Roy was an All Star last year and that Aldridge really blossomed without Zach Randolph around and I see why all the hype.  Bayless was destroying it in summer league (granted...it's summer league) and he was thought to be worth the fourth pick and he slipped all the way to Portland.  Prichard (Blazers GM) has really done the best job of any GM in the league the last few years (Roy, Aldridge, Oden, Bayless, Outlaw, Rudy Fernandez, etc.) and deserves tons of credit.  They went from being the Jail Blazers to the Trail Blazers again in a relatively short period of time thanks to Prichard.  Finally, the addition of Oden underneath this year as well as Bayless at one of the guard spots, gives every reason for Portland to be the talk of the NBA.  They may take a year or two to get there, but there is no doubt that there is not a younger and stronger looking core in all of the NBA.

edit: I haven't seen ANYONE claim they will get to the Finals next year.  What I do hear is 8th spot if they make it at all.

Oden just looks like LeBron, he ain't as good.  

But right now, for teams looking good on paper. Rockets is one of them.

the Blazers are going to be friggin good in a few years. all their talent is going to develop then we'll see who's balling the best in the west

I think they have a talented group there.  If they can put it all together they would probably make it to 2nd round of playoff.  They have a young and excited group and that's why people talk about them.  I don't think anyone over-hyped the Blazer.  You can't blame them.  Lakers fans are even doing it more.  I hear Lakers fans boast things like "Undefeat", "Lakers will shattered Bulls 72-10 record", or even "Lakers will be un-stoppable".

Edit:  I was only ripping post that are ridiculous.  Check out my answer.  Any post that ask a legitimate question get a legit answer from me.  For example, if a post said Kobe is the best this year, I'm often agree but when it said Kobe is the GOAT, then I disagree and post my point.  If a post said Lakers would contend again, I agree and stated so but when I hear things like "unstoppable" then I know it's not serious and therefore I don't write anything serious either.
