This has been bugging me for a long time. Is this something made up by religious leaders to cause panic with parents so they would take their child to church?

Or is a load of old toss?

  1. Well you see they like to commence their age old brainwashing techniques early in life, so there is less chance of escape.

  2. Because you touch yourself at night.

    It causes guilt.

  3. Isnt it because the parents had s*x to actually concieve the baby...thus this being the sin?...

Im not religious and dont agree with half of what they tell you is right and wrong...

so more than likely the old toss lol...

  4. I can understand your question, as there are lots of things said about our sins, our guilt, and what we should do about it.

The answer to your question is: yes, everybody is a sinner.

But it is not our fault, that is the way we are created.

Actually we are created perfect, by the perfect Creator, but in that state we are just like babies, not really realizing our existence.

So then, still by the Creator we are lowered down to this present state, when we are totally concealed from the Creator, so we have the "freedom" to try to get back to that perfect state ourselves.

But as we are doing it now by our own efforts, we achieve the level of the perfect Creator consciously, acquiring similar status to Him.

    All the best!

  5. It literally gives christians the reason to preach their folly dogma to everyone in the world.

  6. They are not.  Life is full of difficulties and we should expect it to be like that.  To make things worse by talking about original sin is a terrible thing to do.  We are a combination of our genetic makeup and life experiences.  Most of us do our best with what we are given but many folk have a raw deal.  I've been lucky I think but I coped a lot better when I left my religion behind and stopped feeling guilty about failing all the time.

  7. Depends who you ask.

I might make the statement that it certainly makes the tenets of Christianity make a lot more sense if people believe that they are born with original sin.

I might also make the statement that organized groups, regardless of what they're selling (a viewpoint, a religion, a political affiliation, rights to a gun club, a discount card program at the supermarket) are all going to do as much as possible to get people to join.

  8. Due to the actions of the two heterosexuals in Eden, Adam and Eve, they were thrown out of Paradise by an angry God.  They willfully disobeyed God and brought sin into the world for which the rest of us have to pay generation after generation.  We are all now born under a state of sin due to their inability to follow God's rules.

  9. I categorically reject the idea of original sin. I am not responsible for the sins of my parents, grandparents, or any of my ancestors.

Promoting the idea that people are inherently sinful and unclean is the foulest and most disgusting teaching in the Abrahamic traditions.

  10. No one is born with sin.  That is a Catholic concept that has been handed down...but I don't know from where.  The idea originated because they believed that s*x is sin, and thus, the child was conceived in sin and needed to be baptized when they were born.  How in world did life continue with that idea?

  11. They aren't.  In fact, the concept of sin is void: it would require not only the existence of some sort of god, but also an opinion from such as to what it did not like.  Neither exists.

  12. Your first relatives in the Garden of Eden sinned and you inherited it that's why Jesus Christ died on the torture stake so he could pay for the sins with his blood.

  13. Jesus never said that.  Why do people listen to Paul?

  14. We aren't.  Only Catholics.  It goes back to the story of Adam and Eve.  They ate the fruit that was forbidden, the original sin.

Much of Christianity was made up by the leaders, to cause panic so that people would go to chuch.  And give their money to the Church.

You have to pay for all those ceremonies, you know.  Baptism and all that.  And you have to pay to go to church, and you have to donate money to light the candles, and pray.  Can't just pray to Gd for yourself, you know.  You have to put a coin or two in the box before you light a candle.

    Everything costs.

  15. babies are not born with sin, babies have no knowledge at all, they learn as they get older, But you cannot even suggest that any human is actually born that way.

thumbs down, that's strang to me that anyone can honestly believe that when a child comes into this world that they already have sin in their makeup, who makes up this c**p

  16. It's an idea Paul borrowed from older religions.  Jews also have the Garden of Eden story and they have never seen the concept of original sin in the story.

  17. Adam disobeyed God cuz he ate the apple that He told him not too, so He told us (the human beings) to live by our own on Earth, later on, Jesus came down to the world, died on the cross, erased all of our sins.

    Hope this helps!

  18. I don't think they are. "Blessed are the Innocent children" if they are Innocent how could they be born with sin?

I do know some believe that the sins of the father and mother follow the children. I personally don't believe that.

  19. Everybody is Divine since we are made of the image of God. Sins are a way of controlling people.A lot of religions use this method of scaring people. As long as you choose love to lead your life and not fear, that's what matters. The only person you can hurt by action is yourself, nobody else. So do what ever you feel in your heart is right and make you feel happy. There is no shame, fear, or lack. Just choose what is true to you and it will reflect on the outside world.

  20. I think a more important question is what are you going to do after you realize you were born into sin? Are you going to just not believe sin exists? Are you going to sin now and pray later? We are born into sin because of a lot of reasons. But God sent His son Jesus for us. He died for our sins. Without Him we would all be sent to h**l because every time we sinned we would have to sacrifice an animal. But Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice. Because of Him all we need to do is ask for forgiveness.

  21. It`s a load of old tosh,,how can a one minute old baby be sinful?

  22. It is my understanding that because Adam and Eve sinned, and because our parents and their parents were not sinless....that we were in fact born with part of their sin.

That's why we must be baptized to be made pure.

Even Jesus became baptized, because although he was conceived without sin, he was born of a human who essentially came from Adam and Eve.

Being baptized as an infant blesses the infant, and calls the Holy Spirit to guard him or her. However, it is also very much intending to charge the parents with raising the child under the law of the 10 commandments.

  23. No. It is of course, ridiculous to mark someone with sin just because an ancestor was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magic knowledge tree.

  24. This "being born in sin or with sin" is a very successful lie told now for centuries.  It makes you guilty out of the shoot so you keep paying off the church.  They've got your allegiance and your money.  It's sweet.  Even one second of reflection will show you how stupid this particular lie is.  But Christians are forbidden to think along these lines.

  25. Nobody is born with sin. People sin when they take the wrong choice. If you have never had a bad conscience about something, you can forget about Christ, who came to save those with bad consciences.

    .

  26. apparently because babies are born selfcentered, i dont really get it, its kinda BS

  27. "Original sin" is a myth invented by the Catholic Church and has no biblical foundation.

God, in the Bible, says:  "The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself." -- (Ezekiel 18:20)

Which flies in the face of that Catholic dogma.

    .

  28. Greeting to Long john from a brother in the Lord Jesus and with Love. We were not born with sin, we were born into and of sin (lust). I did nothing as a baby except p**p my diaper, eat and cry. You did the same thing! The sin comes in when we tell our parents that were not going to church any more. We would rather follow our peers than praise the Lord! Some do this in their terrible twos some a little later. If were lucky enough, someone who has done what we are about to do (smoke, drink, chase women (some men) use the Lords name in vain, all that good stuff, will tell us about the Lord Jesus and the old light bulb will go off in our heads and we'll come to our senses. Some won't!

That's when your parents need to panic and haul you off to church. God bless!

  29. We were born into sin because we are born into this world. I don't believe a child is born with sin. He/she doesn't even know right from wrong yet.

The bible just says that we are all born into sin-meaning that the sin of the world we are born into.

  30. The simplest answer is: you aren't. It is something made up by religious leaders...babies aren't sinful. They can't even roll over when they're born. How could they commit sin? As for the argument of the WORLD they were born it was full of sin, why wouldn't they just say that? Why wouldn't they just say, watch out it's sinful out there? Instead of saying YOU are born with sin? As for the argument that s*x is the sin, that's just stupid. Since when is creating life a sin? All bunnies must go to h**l...

  31. Sin occurred first in the spirit realm before its introduction on earth. For unknown ages full harmony with God prevailed in the universe. Disruption came through a spirit creature referred to simply as the Resister, Adversary (Heb., Sa‧tan′; Gr., Sa‧ta‧nas′; Job 1:6; Ro 16:20), the principal False Accuser or Slanderer (Gr., Di‧a′bo‧los) of God. (Heb 2:14; Re 12:9) Hence, the apostle John says: “He who carries on sin originates with the Devil, because the Devil has been sinning from the beginning.”—1Jo 3:8.

Then we know that Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God and eating the forbidden fruit.

. Romans 5:12 states that “through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.”

If you had a bread pan with a dent, would the loaves of bread made in it come out perfect?  No, they would be dented.

The same with Adam.  His offspring were born with sin, because he could not pass on perfection.  This is why everyone was born a sinner.  But that doesn't mean that we can never please God.

But did you know that God is going to fix this?

“He must rule as king until God has put all enemies under his feet. As the last enemy, death is to be destroyed.”(1 Cor. 15:25, 26) Since the effect of sin is death, death’s destruction means the end of sin.
