Let's get the facts straight, because it pisses me off when people lie:

REPUBLICAN TICKET (Incumbent Party):

John McCain:

-Senior Senator, Arizona, Assumed office January 3, 1987, Incumbent

-Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Arizona's 1st district, In office January 3, 1983 – January 3, 1987

Sara Palin:

-11th Governor of Alaska, Assumed office December 4, 2006, Incumbent

DEMOCRATIC TICKET:

Barack Obama:

-Junior Senator, Illinois Assumed office January 4, 2005, Incumbent

-Member of the Illinois Senate from the 13th district, In office January 8, 1997 – November 4, 2004

Joe Biden*:

-Senior Senator, Delaware, Assumed office January 3, 1973, Incumbent

*Was Chairman of two seperate Senate Committees, not included

Now, in terms of Raw Years (state and federal, federal):

Joe Biden (35, 35 years)

John McCain (25, 25 years)

Barack Obama (11, 3 years)

Sara Palin (2, 0 years)

Now, here's my question: How do you judge experience? Some of the outrageous comments on here are absurd!

  1. I would just tell everyone to just chill out and wait for the debate between Obama and McCain then you can see who has more experience.

  2. You have strangely forgotten Mr. McCain's military service. Which by leading numerous other serviceman, in and of itself make him much more qualified than Obama let alone the fact that he has 50 times more experience in the U.S. Senate. The V.P. choice McCain made is about executive experience, which means being the leader of a large government (in her case State of Alaska) where as being a Senator means you may have leadership "qualities" but not necessarily leadership of any government. Wake up to reality

  3. The focus on inexperience was initiated by McCain's campaign against Obama.  The Clinton's used it as well...even though both Clinton's had little experience as well.

They all want to add...for these troubled times...into the equation as if we have not had other troubled times and other inexperienced Presidents throughout history.

It is a petty and somewhat mute point now that we have added Palin to the mix.

Good work putting all that information together.  I hope the press will do the same and we can put this issue to bed and concentrate on electing Obama, lol.

  4. McCain is older than many people who have died or been disabled by sudden catastrophic ilness with no warning at all.  This makes his age an future health very much valid issues now.

  5. She has around 11 years if you include Council, Mayor, and Governorship. With a great knowledge of hot issues especially with energy and being from Alaska.

  6. because barack only has 143 of junior experience before running

    hugs!

  7. I personally think that experience, or lack of it, is not that big a deal.

Less experience just means less time to get involved in the corruption.

I'm neither democrat or republican, because I think the bicameral system is unconstitutional. But I will be voting for Obama, because I personally feel that he will be better for America.

I do think that Sara Palin was a decent choice for the republicans. She has strong beliefs and values and (even though I don't agree with them) they make her a strong candidate for vice president.
