Why is everyone so paranoid of ouiji boards?

I'm not. I've always wanted to try one, but I am afraid to (not paranoid) because some people get possessed by demons and demons go into the house or freaky things start happening to them, and I don't wait that to happen to me. I'm not paranoid, I just am afraid to try one. It's either: nothing happens, or the worst happens and I have such bad d**n luck half the time, that the worst would probably happen to me. lolz if I ever get enough courage to try one, I might.

Because they believe that by diving spirits they may become possessed by evil spirits.

Not everybody is.  People generally fall into 2 groups; those that believe it can be used to connect with the dead and those that believe it is a harmless and fun way to scare their friends that believe it can be used to conenct with the dead.

It you believe it is a gateway to "the other side", something which none of us have any real understanding of, you are going to be somewhat paranoid about messing with it.

I'm not really sure why it continually gets questioned under the board games category as it is not a game, no matter what your views of spirits.

i would try it. But sylvia browne says quija boards are really bad and bring spirits?? i dunno, have you tried it? maybe it has magnets or something lol.
