Question:

Why is everyone so quick to assume Federer's run is over?

He's still won 63 consecutive matches on grass, 38 in a row at Wimby and has yet to lose a set so far. Shouldn't we at least wait to see a crack in his grass game before talking about how vulnerable he is? Rafa is a tremendous talent no doubt but I'd still only give him about a 1 in 3 chance of upsetting Feds this go round. Do you disagree?

  1. I agree. People can't just stand the fact that Federer is just purely dominant in ATP today. It's funny how most people love watching upsets rather than watch greatness. But Nadal, I have to admit, will become a much better tennis player (ONLY 22!) and might just beat Federer. And he is amazing on clay.

But for now, I just want to witness probably the greatest tennis player ever, Roger Federer.

  2. I think it would be foolish for anyone to assume that.....I don't think anyone is saying that Federer has got worse on grass, it's just that Nadal has improved his game on grass so much that he does have a better chance of beating Federer than he did last year in my opinion

but I'm not going to say that Nadal will win for definate, Federer is still king of grass but anyway I really hope it's a Nadal and Federer final though it would be so exciting

  3. I have been wondering that myself. I think it stems from the fact that Nadal beat him so badly in the French Open.

Federer is playing beautifully at Wimbledon. He has yet to drop a game, or a bead of sweat! He hasn't seemed to have dropped his game to me. I think it is really silly to count him out. I hope he doesn't let the media make him start to doubt himself.

Nadal is playing very well. He has only dropped one set. If his injury from today does not affect him, I can't see anybody stopping both of them from making it to the final.

It will be just as good a match, if not better than last year. Whichever one of them wins will deserve it.

  4. A lot of people just believe the media fluff.

  5. Roger Federer is the favourite to win the title, he`s the 5 time defending champion. However Rafa has been playing amazing tennis the past few months not just on clay but by beating pretty good grass court players at Queens to win that title. I say Nadal has a great chance of winning wimbledon this year even more so than last when he nearly dethroned King Federer in that thrilling 5 set match. Rafa is more close to winning wimbledon than Roger is to winning the French and thats a fact lol ! Anyway now that Rafa is injured i feel Federer will take advantage of that and have more of a chance winning wimbledon now :( ! If Rafa is 100% and makes it to the final watch out Roger because he`s gonna be tough to beat.

  6. i agree with you. although he hasnt had a particularly good showing at the french, im betting that he will win wimbledon this year.

  7. too jealous i think especially nadal fans

  8. The majority of the world's people are uneducated.

The majority of the world's educated people are of low education standard.

h**l, even in 1st World Countries combined the average percentage of University Graduates is under 15%.

That's why you have so many idiots who go by what the media says and the media likes to make up competition that isn't always there, like the Federer vs. Nadal matchup, Federer is ahead by over 1100 points and has made 16 straight semifinals, which should indicate to anyone who knows the points system that Federer by all likelihood will remain #1 until 2010.

  9. i agree, everyone is starting to doubt federor and that is stupid. just cuz nadal won the french open ? federeror is better than that even if nadal is the hardest working player. federor just has pure talent

  10. Because Nadal beat him like a drum in the Finals of the French Open, to signify that the gap between those 2 on clay is widening.

Because Nadal has made it to the Finals of Wimbledon for the past 2 years, and has improved each year.  Last year he was extremely close to beating Federer in the Finals.  Given his rate of improvement, he should beat Federer this year.  Even Federer admitted it in his victory speech last year.

So far at Wimbledon this year Nadal is playing better tennis.
