  1. Taken seriously... in opposition to males? In the system? In schools?

one part of your answer: although gender roles and expectations are changing, women are still viewed in the 'mother/nurturer' role. Therefore many man within the justice system are reluctant to prosecute and when they do they receive more lenient penalties.

Since the 1990' female delinquency has been on the rise and the judicial system is still not as prepared to handle these cases. Boys tend to have a higher trajectory and a higher rate of recidivism therefore they tend to receive harsher sentences. Not fair but those are what studies find

  2. I'm not sure that it isn't all of the time, but I would say that when it isn't it's because women or females aren't usually considered as dangerous or as likely to repeat offenses as males.  It's just a societal mind set.  But I did find the following that you might find interesting:

Female offenders who were adjudicated delinquent received

probation in the majority (60%) of cases. In 22% of the cases,

female offenders were placed out of the home in a residential

facility. Between 1988 and 1997, the number of cases in which

the court ordered delinquent females to be placed in a residential

facility increased 105%, while the number of probation cases

    increased 129%.

  3. it is taken seriously. there are less women offenders and it is higher risk to be a male offender than a women as in they are more likly to do it again.

Females do tend to have to do more to get put away... although they are taken seriously

  4. Because men have the tendency to commit more grave offenses than women and that we are rarely delinquent.

  5. Women in prison movies on late nite Cinemax. It's the whole "captive women" thing. Sort of a sexual theme that a lot of guys succomb to when thinking about women in real prisons. They are thought of as "naughty girls" not criminals.

  6. Because women tend to conform to rules more so often then men, women are not normally as violent as men!!!  You can speculate all day long as to why, the simplest answer I can give you is because we are, generally speaking, physically the weakest s*x, and so, hence forth, it would not do us a lot of good to become violent or agressive, because someone bigger would quickly stop us before we got a chance to do much damage, that also more than likely explains the reason why women tend to use poisen more often than anything else to kill, for fear that the weapon may be taken away from us.

  7. because the authorities underestimate the power of v****a
