if americans like aggressive sports, why not follow rugby where players are less protected or motocross where riders hit the ground at 60 mph if they wreck. seriously that emits alot more adrenaline than football

  1. You can't explain what you're into, mi amigo. Just a case of different strokes for different folks.

  2. As a Brit, I always laugh when people say to me that rugby (Union, that is, I think League is very good) is a much tougher game than American Football, and that the latter, with all the padding, is just rugby for pansies. I then ask them if they've ever watched Gridiron, and they say no. When I then say that the reason for all the protection is because the game is MUCH more violent and dangerous than rugby, and that American footballers are much stronger and faster than rugby players, and if they don't believe me, check it out for themselves, they can't be bothered.

Secondly, Rugby Union is complete garbage because the only way to get any sort of watchable play is by ignoring the rules, particularly with regard to obstruction and offside (especially in rucks and mauls) and playing the ball on the ground after being tackled. As for the line outs, they've become the biggest joke of all. Players aren't supposed to move until the ball has left the thrower's hand, yet players are virtually running around in circles long before the ball is released.

  3. Well rugby is hardly ever on tv and neither is motocross except for the X Games which is once a year.

Football has been popular since the 60s it would be kind of hard to change that now

  4. its so popluar because americans have the crappiest lives with george w. bush and there crappy *** lives that they need to forget about that stuff so they like to get hit in the head really hard and forget it allllll, they like to act retarded and dumb to be cool to, go to any highschool, football is all they talk about, and they repeat the same thing everyday, "dude remember that one pass i made..." but its okay because they forget it in like 15 seconds so its always funny all the time. those idiots,

  5. There are a lot of folks who follow motocross along with other motor sports such as NASCAR.

It's ok for a person to enjoy more than one sport for a plethora of reasons.

  6. Just because rugby is agressive, its not all that much of a good game, while football is way better.

And those are so boring to watch, football is way more fun to watch and play.

  7. Its America's Pastime! Rugby just isn't played, watched or televised in the states like it is in Europe. Here in the states we start playing football as kids. Not rugby. As kids our heroes are football players. Not rugby players. No offense just saying. As far as motorcross, most of the riders stay on their bikes! haha

  8. I'm not sure... this is our sport..we don't have the soccer leagues like the rest of the world... so then I guess my question is:

Why is soccer so popular in countries other than the US when there are so many other sports????

    Get your popcorn ready!!

  9. I don't think there is another sport out there that requires as much precise strategy on each play as football.  For me, I love to watch the different plays and how the defense reacts to different formations.
