Why is gaia not working is it updating? or what?

ok today is 10/12/2007 at 3 pm western time and for some reason gaia is not loading i called my friends and its the same there so its not my computer just wondering what is up if any1 has any info (srry was at school)

I can't get in either ;-;...

Got this from Gaia:

Gaia was down for two hours from 2pm to 4pm, PST due to an outage of our service provider.

Rain had poured for the first time in months in San Jose, causing lots of floods around the cities, blocking roads and freeways. On top of that, many places face power outages, and many internet services went down, including Gaia Online!

We have installed a back-up service recently, though still need a few more pieces to complete the system. Once it's functional, no longer will one single outage bring our site down. Hope this will be the last time for outages in Gaian history. crying
