I easily have a maintained weight of 121-125 lbs. I have tried it all from protein bars, powder, potatoes, pasta, big macs, working out the right way and exercising frequently but still i can't gain weight? My metabolism is obviously through the roof and my goal was to be 150 lbs but I can't get past 125? What do I do?

  1. I USE TO BE 129 LBS FROM THE AGE 17 TO 19 , I AM ALSO 6 FT 2 .YOU SERIOUSLY WANT TO GAIN WEIGHT AND  YOU HAVE A FAST MATABOLISM. YOU NEED TO COMBINE YOUR CARBS, WEIGHT AND MASS GAINER AT THE RIGHT TIMES.dRINK 8 GLASSES OF WATER OR MORE A DAY AND GET AT LEAST 8 HOURS OF SLEEP A DAY or more. drink a high carb protien drink, and a meal with carbs at least a hour before bed.dont skip any meals , and eat until you are the point that you think you are going to yak.As far as working out dont go so hard you are just ripping your self down. try working out every other day for a half hour. best to do push ups and squats you will gain fast. by the way after i figured this out i gained at least 5lbs every 7 days. now i weigh 230lbs of muscle

  5. Unless you have an eating disorder, i'd recommend against trying to bulk up with food.  Try bulking up with exercise.  I know, it's counter intuitive, but if you work hard, you can gain weight.

I used to be that way, but now it's a struggle to keep my weight lower.  The change happened around 45.

  6. It's your body and the way it processes food, your metabolism rate is high and there is really nothing you can do about it. You may want to see your Dr. and make sure it's not a thyroid condition, but chances are it's not... my son had the same problem in his youth and the thing that helped him the most was to drink Carnation instant breakfast and high protein shakes throughout the day, about four a day, two of the breakfast one's and two of the protein, Ensure was the other drink he consumed, and it actually helped build muscle definition and he gained weight from muscle mass alone. Best of luck

  7. I think it would help you to think of gaining weight as a long-term goal.  Probably the best way to gain weight for a man is to put on muscle mass.  To do this you need to go to the gym and do anaerobic workouts every other day.  In addition you should monitor your daily kcal consumption and estimated loss.  You should be consuming more kcal's than your are burning per day.  If it truly is your goal to gain weight, be patient, work hard, and keep track of your progress.
