Why is gas 65$ a barrel why does it cost that much?

also another thing i want to know is how do we produced or harvest fossil fuels because we are doing some science project on this right now in my school.

  1. I don't know what barrels you're talking about.  Gas currently costs around $90 a barrel.


  2. Simple economics. The reason gas is so high is us. Demand goes up, which it is, price goes up. Supply goes down, which it is, price goes up. Add those along with countless other things that affect the price like relations and what not and there ya go, $3.00 a gallon.

  4. I wish gas was $65 a barrel!!  Its over $90  a barrel US dollars. The prices are set on the trading floor. Any bad news will drive the price up. Also, hedge funds drive it up. Its a huge mess

  6. Gas isn't $65/barrel - crude oil is. Depending on what currency you're using. It's between $90-$100 USD right now. Go to the library and check out an economics book. Read up on the principle of supply and demand.
