  1. One of the reasons is because we are no longer protecting Saudi Arabia (one of the US's major oil suppliers) because we ousted Sadam Hussein. Now that they no longer need our protection, there's nothing stopping them from decreasing their supply of oil to us.


  2. High Demand + Low Supply = High Prices.

    It is said that oil supply in the world would only last for 30 years.
