Especially since the dollar is so much weaker than their currencies.

Is there anywhere gas is cheaper than the US?

  1. There are very high taxes on gasoline in Europe, including Engliand, compared to US taxes on gasoline.

As of a month ago there were at least 10 countries where gasoline is under $1.00 a gallon according to CNN.

  2. In the UK, there is a 75% tax on gasoline, no wonder why the Brits are throwing out the Liberals.

Is there anywhere gas is cheaper than the US?  - only in those areas where there are no Democrats

  3. The cost to buy gasoline around the world is actually very similar.  The difference comes to either taxes or subsidizing, both done by governments.  In Europe they pay for many of their social programs through gas taxes.  Not so here, where we pay mostly for just some of our roads.  In places like Venezuela the government doesn't tax gas, and actually pays most of the cost for its citizens.  Seems nice, but has some serious problems.  There was a great recent article on the topic that you will find very informative.  I've linked it below.
