Why is gas soo expensive?

i hear alot of reasons why and im not sure what to believe; some people say the united states has most of the oil but they dont want to use it because it can harm animals? since were in iraq why cant we just take there oil?i dont kno much about his so does ne one kno?

because of increased demand from developing countries and oil speculations.

Also, in the US, a lack of refineries (not oil)

because Bush won't give up any of his that he has in the US.. and of course his oil overseas that he gains so much profit on.

the gas prices would go down if people stopped buying it ! im not saying dont buy it at all because people need it to go to work and stuff but we should try and save it and use it wisely! im not saying go out and buy an economical vehicle either because i drive a 82 chevy with a v8! here are some examples of what i mean if you know you need to go shopping after work or school do it why run home and waste gas going back out. or the wastefull kids that just drive around all day and night for the h**l of it wasting gas. I work in a grocery store and i see the same people come and shop for the same c**p every single day why not buy everything you need in one trip for the week=wastefull also the us is not drilling for enough oil there are thousands of acres of the us coast that the us is not using instead japan and china are! i think the main reason is because people havent stopped there wastfull habits!!!!!!!

The prices and the Price of Oil is begin manipulated on purpose by a shadowy group of individuals that care nothing about the American people, the US Constitution or life itself.

Ask the Saudi's about the price of oil, they sure know whats going on!

because china and india are becoming more advanced and having more cars, appliances, etc. and theres less oil then there was 10 years ago.
