When New Jersey requires full-service stations, the others do not (only Oregon AFAIK requires full-service other than NJ); presumably the cost of gasoline should reflect the price of paying the salaries of the gas "jockeys", so why is it less?

  1. i live in phx and gas is only 2.77 and there is no full service mostly over here

  2. It is the state gas tax that makes the price less. I think New Jersey tax is about 13 cents. In CT, where I live the tax is 45 cents. That's the big difference in price.

  3. NJ has been traditionally cheaper for several decades.  tax reasons

  4. maybe, the value added tax(VAT)has something to do with it.......

  5. tax is dependent on your state     other reasons include

    transportation and retail pricing
