  1. Think about it your teeth are very small just like diamonds so that is why working on them costs so much. There are some who believe that you can remineralise your cavities by adjusting the calcium phosphorus ratio in your blood with your diet, including of course no sugar.

  2. Apart from all of the usual costs of running a medical practice (wages, lease of premises, insurance etc), dentists also use equipment which is very expensive to buy and to maintain.  There is also a large cost involved in sterilising the bits which go in your mouth.

Dentists do make a good income, but like other medical specialists, they have had to study hard for many years to become qualified.

  3. Look of the the cost of furnishing and renting a dental office along with hiring three or four employees and paying off your college and dental school loans. You might then think your dentist is not charging enough.

  4. Good question...It is indeed very expensive for one they study their profession for how many years that's why when they perform they will use the skills and knowledge they learn and also they are the type who can treat all your dental problems. Also how about their payment about their profession and everything their office, secretary and everything including the machine they are using thats why they have to ask the right amount of payment.

  5. Since it's their way of making money. it's that simple.

Try asking your dentist that question and i don't know if you're still welcome in his clinic.

  6. no, the money doesn't all go to the dentist. Nurses are paid, rent, electricity etc, instruments, materials, there are alot of costs.

Procedures are expensive because of the instruments and materials that are used ( they are not cheap!) and how much time your in the chair for.

  7. how else are they spose to make money...

  8. I work in a small office and I'm the one who manages our finances.  It seems like we charge alot but after paying employees, building rent, office supplies, equiptment repairs, dental supplies, and trying to upgrade a little here and there, sometimes ends are hard to meet.

We work with many PPO's and by the time we discount off money for all them our profits are lost.

  9. if dentists weren't paid well, nobody would do it. it's a pretty disgusting job, when you think about it.

their education was expensive and long, they have skill and expertise, they need to pay staff wages, for the equipment. some do overcharge though, even considering all this.
