Why is grinding not appropriate for commercial farming?

  1. I must be missing the whole point of this question.  Grinding of feeds are a big part of farming and commercial feeds.  Grinding corn makes it more digestible, whereas whole corn kernels may pass through an animals system undigested.  Hay is ground and pelleted to make it easier to handle and more digestible.  Grinding of compost materials helps them to break down into useful organic matter faster.  I really can't think of any reason where grinding would not be appropriate for commercial farming.
