Why is handball not an olypmic sport?

I mean, come on. If... javelin-throwing is,then how come not handball?

  1. Right now it is because there aren't enough other countries playing handball. The IOC requires a specific number of countries. Also, those countries would most likely need to agree on a specific format of handball (1-wall, 3-wall, or 4-wall). Handball is starting to become more and more popular in other countries so we may see it at a future Olympics!

  3. Team Handball (as opposed to the walled, raquetball-like handball) IS an Olympic Sport.

  5. Handball was first played in the olympics in 1936 at the request of Adolf Hitler, and returned in 1972 and is still played in the olympics.
