Why is he mad at me?

I have a cousin who I am very close to. He moved away a long time ago & we just came back in each others lives last year. He lives far away but we IM & send emails to each other all the time. We are both married.

We talk about every subject under the sun with each other. I had asked him if he ever cheated on his wife & he said no. The other day I was looking up something & by accident found a message he left on a forum looking for someone to have s*x with 5 years ago so I asked him again today if he ever cheated on his wife. He asked me why I keep on asking him this question so I told him what I had found. He denied it. Yet when I went into it to send him the link, the message was lite up along with his email address. He asked me why I was digging into things like this but also said he was confused about it all & doesn't know what it is. Then he just changed the subject & ended the IM.

Was I wrong asking him this?

yes, you were wrong. Just because he had that message doesn't mean he did the s*x either.

Yes, you were in the wrong. People make mistakes and don't particularly like others digging them back up and throwing them in their faces. Not only did you violate his privacy, you deliberately confronted him with it knowing it would catch him in a lie. I'm not saying either of you is a bad person, but I think you could have been a little more tactful, at the very least. Better yet, you could just let him live his own life.
