  1. History is as important to us as a question mark is to a question.

Without it, we would never understand the full meaning of anything.

  2. Just look at the current administration and the last seven years. The list of mistakes is endless and most have been made in one form or another before. Those who do not know history are condemned to repeat it. Never been truer than now in the USA......

  3. "Those who do know their history are condemned to repeat it"

If we don't know our previous history, we are often, condemned to repeat or make the same mistakes twice.

  4. Funny you should ask, Harry Potter (if that's who you really are...).  For instance, if you've already used your Spell of Forgetfulness on Hermione when she caught you spying on the girl's locker room using the invisibility cloak, history will tell you to try a different tactic next time.

  5. Because you need to know about the past and how it impacted us today.

  6. History is important for many reasons. For one, it helps us understand why things are the way they currently are. Also, it helps us to not make the same mistake our predecessors did.

  7. It is because of history that we have advanced as a culture.  The whole trial by error concept comes into play which everyone has hit on.

  8. Because, it important to learn from the past and hope for the future. Today some people think that it's a thing of the past, but you can learn alot from it and see how you anscenstors lived back when they were alive and well.

  9.   Let's say you want to institute a new government program...but your knowledge of history tells you it has already been done and rejected by the Supreme Court.  You have to come up with a new idea.

As commander of an army, you want to plan an attack on a certain place, but know from history that a nearby base with interfere with you plans if able...so you can adjust your plans to account for it.

It is not just a phrase to say that those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it- we can learn from the past!

  10. so you don't make the same mistake

  11. It helps us to understand our past to make our future perfect . It protect us from making the same mistake again

  12. because history repeats itself, the pattern is the same.

by learning history, you're supposed not to repeat the same mistake, as it did in the past

  13. Like the old saying says:  "Learn from history or be doomed to repeat it"

Personally I think that it is important to know our heritage. And well,  we are all part of the history.

I reccommend a very nice essay:

  14. Because, its important to learn from the past.Lots of peoples wanna know what happened in the past.

  15. Well just think of how boring things would be without it! Yesterday is history, tomorrow will be history - at some point, everything will become history. So imagine if after each day that history was erased, you had no idea what happened the day before - you just went about doing your job, coming home, eating and then going off to sleep - how boring!

History can be a little whimsical as well, I mean, a rumour that started one day has been strong ever since, "Let them eat cake" she said - Marie Antoinette never said that. Small things like that sometimes make a huge difference. We can learn from our mistakes by looking over our historic time line on earth, it's no difficult.

History is also something to be proud of, you can look back and say "Ya, the human race, we're pretty cool, aren't we?" You are a part of that and as our civilizations progresses, your impact, mayhap it be large or small, is still your contribution to history. As the line goes in Mary Poppins, "A man has dreams of walking with giants. To carve his niche in the edifice of time"

And nobody dislikes history, they dislike their own history. So ya, history is important, because tomorrow would be a very different day without it.

    Cheers!
