Because Hitler was a tiny, impotent little coward whose narcissism controlled his ego. Most so-called 'leaders' who resort to 'war', mass murder and genocide are only egoistic, timorous cretins whose personal demons can only serve to bloat their insanities. In addition to Hitler, 'men' like Joseph Stalin and George W. Bush come to mind as  contemporary examples of such malcontents.
