  1. Guys like Bull get very irritated when the game is refered to by that name

    ****

good comeback Bull, I had it comming.

I know you are a Soutpiel therefore I knew you had something to add to the "mofstok" issue

  2. So BOOBOO, from your analysis it safe to say that you have come to the result of :

    g*y STICK.

He he he Interesting.. I have never heard of the word.. But ya.. lol

  3. Found this:

    "Moffie

Pronounced "morfie". A g*y man or any man who does not play/watch

rugby, eat biltong and drink Klippies. (at least in the opinion of the

type of person that does all of the above). Hockey players are most

derided, especially at school, where only "moffies' play hockey and not

rugby, hence the popular term for hockey 'mofstok'. "

  4. If you saw (and heard) how hard they hit the ball with their sticks, you would not want to say that in front of them!  I actually have never heard of it, and thought it was one of your inventions, tante Lise.

  5. Ignore s****., he has alternate uses for his childrens hockey sticks.

I was in an English High School and we would traditionally be on the receiving end of severe hidings in rugby at the hands of the Afrikaans schools, Nokia Park scores, 52-10 etc, many of the guys never had the stomach for the beatings we took and ran off to play hockey where our school would traditionally thrash the Afikaans schools, we always labelled the Hockey boys as "Mofstok" players, I think it must be due to the fact that in South Africa boys/men play rugby and girls/women play hockey, that is of course unless the boys/men cannot make the rugby team and have to find something else to do......

That and also as I previously said, there are apparently other uses for hockey sticks in the minds of certain individuals.......

  6. I have never heard of "mofstok" in my life.

Even my Afrikaner friend has never heard of it before. All he can think of is it has something to do with g*y??? (what the h**l) lol

After all we are a Rugby nation!

  7. I've heard that term. I used to play hockey.

If you were a guy that played hockey it was said that you played mofstok, because it's considered a girl sport. "g*y stick".

But like somebody said, once you get struck by a hockey ball that's been hit by a "mofstok" player, you quickly forget that term!

  8. I never heard the term "Mofstok" either.

In KZN - Both sports were big Rugby and Hockey - our rugby sides did not play Afrikaans schools that often as we don't have many in our area, But in my day our team often beat Greys College - seems to have changed a bit recently.
